October, 2014: Bob and his colleague Paul worked to repair the rotted, nearly non-existent sill.
The bad news: this was a major home repair that we had not been anticipating.
The good news: we now have a healthy new sill supporting our kitchen.
It was interesting to see what kinds of materials were used in the construction of home foundations in the 17th century. For example, Bob and Paul uncovered these tree limbs:
